BD DIESEL 1041464 Exhaust Manifold Ps

So I had a broken bolt on passenger side of my 2017 Ram 1500 with 5.7 Hemi and ordered both manifolds months ago so I could do them when the weather got nice enough. Well this weekend I tackled the passenger side since it was already leaking and was easier to access. The original broken bolt was easy to extract since it was sticking out. I have bits that fit on the studs and grips them tighter as you loosen the bolt. Unfortunately the bolt below had weakened program hot exhaust constantly blowing on it and snapped just below flush with the head. Tried drilling and gave up, because I didn’t want to damage the head (water jacket is super close). Son-in-law brought over his flux core welder and after a few attempts we got it out. The packaging for my passenger side manifold was extremely damaged and had been retaped. The manifold was undamaged since it was encased in foam and was originally well packaged. But the gasket it put on the outside of the foam molded into it slightly and that is where the damage occurred. Didn’t look bad enough to return and still looked useable. However, it was a gasket for the driver side. Checked the driver side box and they were identical. My guess is it was damaged before it left and they just threw in a gasket,but it was the wrong side. Already had it ripped apart so I ran to advanced auto and got felpro gaskets which are better anyways. After that install went great and was super fast and easy. Made sure to put antiseize on the bolts just in case I ever have to remove it. No exhaust leaks and tick is gone. Been driving me nuts since last year,but was out of work from September till January after back surgery so couldn’t do it then. All in all id highly recommend. The undamaged gaskets look like quality gaskets. Hardest part of this job is the broken bolts and all the prep (putting on jack stands, pulling the tire, pulling the fender liner and removing the old one). The actual install is a breeze. Driver side has less space and I will disconnect the steering shaft. Just a FYI, if you disconnect the steering shaft for drivers side mark it with a paint pen. If you put it on in a different spline your steering will be off. While not necessary since it is possible to get the old one out and new one in with the steering shaft connected it would be much easier disconnected. I disconnected mine on my old 2005 Ram 1500, because I installed headers when I had broken manifold bolts. The manifold and bolts are great and I’m sure the gasket works fine if you get the right one with your order.
